Kamai converter station is located on the bank of Jinsha River. As the sending station of Jinshang-Hubei ±800kV UHV DC transmission project, it is the first station of UHV entering Tibet, and also the UHV converter station with the highest altitude in the world, and it is also the first Tibet project undertaken by our group company, which is of profound and great significance. The construction of this project faces the triple challenges of construction in no man's land, lack of technical experience and lack of construction experience for the first time.
Our company is responsible for the pile foundation construction task of this station, and on December 1, 2023, we started the construction. In the process of project construction, all the staff of the project department screwed together and advanced together, facing the harsh conditions of cold and high altitude, with the spirit of “lack of oxygen but not lack of spirit, high altitude and higher spirit”, and strictly in accordance with the design specifications and relevant national laws and regulations for construction, completed all the construction tasks in advance of the contract period by two months. A perfect result were delivered to the owner in terms of quality, safety and nodes.
