The Saad II Solar PV Project is located in central Saudi Arabia, developed by ACWA Power and invested by SAAD TWO RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANY. The Group Company executed the pile foundation construction for this project, completing 87,534 driven piles and 58,757 bored cast-in-place piles with a diameter of 300mm.
To address the limestone geology, the project employed down-the-hole (DTH) hammer drilling technology combined with air compressors to enhance efficiency in hard strata. For precision alignment, GPS-RTK and fully automatic laser devices were utilized, achieving strict tolerances of ±20mm in pile positioning and ±1cm in elevation control. The integration of driven piles and bored cast-in-place piles, along with laser leveling instruments and receivers, ensured precise angle and elevation alignment for steel structures, meeting international quality standards and setting a benchmark for large-scale overseas PV pile foundation projects.
The project commenced on December 27, 2023, and was completed on November 26, 2024, spanning 11 months and adhering to the contractual timeline. Throughout construction, quality, safety, and schedule management received unanimous acclaim from both technical and management teams.
