The Piling Works for the Three-Span Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge on the 71km Monze-Niko Road is located in Lusaka, Zambia, and is invested by China Geo-Engineering Corporation. This project constitutes a critical component of the key road upgrade initiative in Zambia's Southern Province. Our Group Company undertook all piling construction tasks for the three-span steel-concrete composite bridge, successfully completing a total of 60 bored piles, each with a diameter of 1 meter and a length of 18 meters.
The project commenced on August 18, 2025, and was completed on September 9, 2025. Considering the local geological conditions and the friction pile characteristics, the project team strictly selected dense strata for under-reaming. The technique of "alternating between under-reaming drills and flat-bottom drills" was employed to effectively clean sediment from the under-reamed sections. This approach ensured the required borehole dimensions were met while decisively preventing the risk of hole collapse. Comprehensive measures, including using extended casings, optimizing slurry properties, controlling the drilling spacing between adjacent holes, and minimizing the waiting time between hole completion and concreting, were implemented to guarantee borehole wall stability in the loose soil layers. Third-party testing confirmed a 100% qualification rate for the integrity (via low-strain and sonic testing) of all 60 piles. The project team excellently fulfilled its contractual commitments, earning unanimous praise from the general contractor for its outstanding performance.
The successful execution of this project not only provides solid support for Zambia's road infrastructure development but also reaffirms our company's strong organizational and technical capabilities in rapidly and successfully completing construction tasks in complex overseas environments. It further consolidates our positive reputation in the African engineering market.
