The Huizhou LNG receiving station project is an important measure for Huizhou to implement the national “peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality” strategy, promote the high-quality development of the energy industry, and build a clean and low-carbon modern energy system. The project is located in Huidong County, Huizhou City, invested by Guangdong Huizhou Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd., our company is responsible for the pile foundation construction of 3 storage tanks.
The storage tank pile foundation is designed as bored piles, and each tank is designed with 393 piles, for a total of 1,179 piles. The pile diameter is 1,400 mm, the pile length is uncertain, and the pile end is required to enter the moderate weathered granite ≥1 m. Project contents include surveying and setting out, drilling, slurry preparation and treatment, rebar cage production, rebar cage transportation and placement, commodity concrete acceptance, concrete pouring, short column construction, regular cleaning of mud (slag), layered backfill compaction of slurry pool, etc.
The construction of this project started on May 10, 2021 and the construction was completed on October 12, 2021. During the construction period, the owner and supervision unit sent engineers to supervise on the spot, and we strictly abided by relevant laws and regulations, various standards and norms in the process, conscientiously performed the contract, from the start to the completion, no safety and quality accidents have occurred. After the completion of the construction, the third-party testing unit tested all 1,179 piles, and the test results showed that the bearing capacity met the design requirements, the pile integrity of the Class I pile ratio was 96.2%, and there were no class III piles. By November 21, 2021, all three tank pile foundations have successfully passed the acceptance of the owner.
During the construction process, the project team showed good execution, responsibility and superb construction technology, ensuring the quality, safety and progress of the project. It has overcome many difficulties such as hot weather, narrow construction site, tight water and electricity supply, and complex site strata. In particular, the successful application of rotary drilling rig construction in deep block backfill layers and high-strength granite layers has saved the construction period for the project and accumulated experience for similar projects. It has been praised by the owner, supervisor, general contractor and other units, and awarded the honorary title of "Excellent Contractor" to our company.
